John C. Huffman

John Huffman has been practicing law for over 30 years with areas of emphasis in Personal Injury, Family Law, Adoption and Estate Administration. He is also a member of the Ohio Adoption Law Roundtable. He currently serves on the Commission for Continuing Legal Education for the Ohio Supreme Court.

John has distinguished himself as one of the leading adoption attorneys in the country, being one of only 14 lawyers in the State of Ohio and 1 of only 394 lawyers nationwide who have become admitted as a fellow in the exclusive Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys (AAAA). He is also a member of the Ohio Adoption Roundtable. John has handled over 500 adoption cases, many including interstate, international and contested litigation issues.

John also has a long history (over 25 years) of public service. He is currently the legal advisor for American Township and previously served the Cairo community as their Village Solicitor.

John was born and raised in Lima, Ohio where he graduated from Lima Central Catholic High School in 1982. He completed his undergraduate studies at Bowling Green State University in 1986. He then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate Degree from The University of Toledo, College of Law, in 1989. After passing the Ohio bar exam and being sworn in as an attorney in November of 1989, John began practicing law at this firm with his father and 2 brothers.
John and his wife, Ruth, were married in 1988 and continue to reside in the Lima area. They have 4 grown children, Emily (Tim), Sarah (Matt), Mary and Jack and 1 granddaughter, Lucy.
